Now here are two old hands posted but one thing is still not clear: Drcke C at startup, then boot f

I am newbie in the field and apple consumption times professional help. have an apple G3 b & w with no hard drive but get with cd's for macos 9.2.2. Unfortunately the FrHere owner has retained its IDE hard drive and I mute insert a new one. the new HDD is jumpert on Singel / Mastercard, 40GB large and unpartitioned. I have inserted in the drive the first cd but somehow it does not boot from the cd. there comes a sound, then the old apple logo and a question mark alternate. it is briefly tempted by the cd to read but the state is not altered. I'm here in the forum already read, but when apple uninitiated user, it is for me difficult to distinguish meaningful sails from meaningless info beitrge. I have until now only the tip of the ALT key but tried not worked. for info: I have no original apple keyboard and mouse to this computer. sails but both standard software sails from Logitech without special functions. sails --------- I hope who can help me further, this computer again live to breathe it. thank you before, daniel
I know because not so exactly, but I thought that both drives, so the HDD and the DVD drive on the same IDE hang together. sails If you jumperst your plate as SINGLE / MASTER, maybe the DVD drive is not even mentioned? Show times as the DVD drive jumpered. I had jumpered the drive as a Master, the optical slave in G4 MDD. Possibly sails even cable select, but never as a single

@ Trixi1979 in my G3 are anschlssen two cables with two each. at one plugged the hard drive. the other puts the CD or DVD drive together with a zip drive. Otiss Unfortunately, no. he also does not boot from cd when I put the hdd from. the CDs are original and not scratched. -------------- I have read something you should drcken the start "Command + V". but unfortunately I have no apple keyboard that does what? I have it sometimes with another bootfhigen cd tried by Kaspersky the start just as wehnig. available at apple no bios or F8 as in normal PCs to the boot drive to choose?
Now here are two old hands posted but one thing is still not clear: Drcke C at startup, then boot from CD. "Apple" is the WIN button on a Windows keyboard. The codes that send the keyboards are the Same, a Mac also works with Windows keyboard, only the key function of the special keys (such as @ or something) else, so you would have to know them in the head. Furthermore, the need to hard drives I think his jumpered Cable Select. But I'm not sure.

Moin notice when it does not boot from CD, you should please look at the jumper to Master or cabel select infected. If your CD drive is not bootfhig you have to Pappnase! Can you please tell about us to which drive> Name> sails manufacturer is. And 100 x must not command on the keyboard Pressed! Give it a made simple. sails HDD and CD purely from the Mac starts without typing on the keyboard of the drive, IF this is bootfhig!
Apart from the fact that the software is not called from the original software is what you actually exactly and where? Fired illegally downloaded from another Mac? What does it say? Normally you can install properly sails if you do not have the original software (Mac OS 8.5.1 (Mac OS ROM 1.2)) only from a retail CD / DVD. And a retail 9.2.2 I have not yet come across. Next: The unformatted hard disk as Mac OS Extended and should be formatted with Apple Partition Scheme, if this is done on another Mac running Mac OS X 10.4.11 to, make sure that the system sails for 9 option is checked. At 10.5 entfllt this possibility. Port on single-drive cable best as the master: See page 79 of the Service Manual. Connection in each case as a master on the black connector of the dual-drive ATA cable. See page 87 of the ausfhrlichen Service Manual 293 pages (engl.)
