On May 8, 2014 I was fortunate to share the experience of launching the wooden boat Tomo Hirayama, made under the teaching and supervision of the Master of wooden boatbuilding in Lanzarote, Jordan Augustine.
Tomo Hirayama, a Japanese national, came to the island in order to learn to draw, design and make their own wooden boat with Augustine. After a few months ais liverpool where he learned all the steps necessary to build a small boat 2 feet long, time to test its buoyancy and navigation at sea has come.
An exciting time for students, ais liverpool because it proves that the craft work over the last few months has the expected success and realizes that it is also a unique work that has behind it, the teachings, effort, perseverance, memories and experiences of the last months of his life.
For the Master is a different time, first expresses the joy of work done successfully through one of his best students, but then denotes the sadness of the end of a work, hoping soon to reach other students who want learn, share and enjoy making unique pieces that live, respect and enjoy the sea.
